Quick post before I head off to work...

Wow, another lovely morning, I can't believe how lucky we've been.

I thought I'd do a quick post before I head off to work this morning, mainly to say thank you to all the lovely people that have left the most wonderful comments on my latest entry for the Less is More Challenge.

This is a card I made for my hubby for our anniversary. It's not until August but I thought I'd for once try to get ahead of myself!

Very simple card, printed directly onto linen cardstock, cut out with nesties and added a few stamps of a swirl and some tiny black pearls.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day whatever you're doing.

Less is More Challenge 11...

Acetate (eek!)

Help, I'm way out of my depth here! This is the very first time I've attempted to use acetate, luckily I had one sheet hidden away in my paper drawer.

I've used some lovely design papers that were a free download, but I can't remember where from (if anyone knows, please tell me). The top of the card was cut at 6cm, then I cut a 4cm strip for the bottom. The acetate sits between the two.

The Butterfly is from my favourite Marianne Creatables Butterfly die using the same background design paper and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out considering my initial hesitation.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Another sleepless night...

Well, it's 3am and I'm wide awake, in fact although I went to bed, I've been tossing and turning not sleeping, so I decided to get up and do a little blog hopping and try a cup of Earl Grey Decaf tea.

I've received some lovely comments on some of the cards that I've made, there are so many wonderful crafting bloggers out there - thank you.

I thought I'd post a card I made a few weeks ago, it's a Golden Wedding Anniversary card that I made for my husband's great aunt and uncle. It's a very simple card based on the Mother's Day cards that I made this year. Printed directly onto ivory linen cardstock, using Pink Petticoat Papers and the PC for the sentiment. My favourite butterfly by Marianne Creatables and some lush gold ribbon that I picked up in the sale at the Papermill Shop in York.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dandelion Wisps...

Morning

Well, firstly I have to say that I'm super excited because today I have my first follower, the lovely Jenny from
Crafting in the Country commented on one of my cards and asked how she could follow my blog, such a huge compliment - thank you Jenny.

My card for today is a birthday card made for a colleague at work (do a lot of these you may have noticed!). I've chosen Pink Petticoat Dandelion Wisps for Cathy and matched it up with PP perfect papers, printed directly onto the card. I've added a bit of sparkle with glitter dust, some tiny black pearls and a wee black bow to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Green and pink and never seen ink...

This is the challenge over at OLW.

It's the first time I've joined in this challenge but I thought I'd give it a go as I had a new stamp just waiting to be inked. The stamp is from Stamp-it, no design name on it though. I've coloured the image with my promarkers using pastel green, pear green and rose pink. Not one of my better efforts but I thought I'd post it and maybe come back with another if I get time.

Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to next weeks challenge.

George the runner...

Hi All

Today's card is a CAS style card that has been completely computer generated. The image is George from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I pulled everything together in PowerPoint, I find it easier to design in than Word, then printed onto white cardstock from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for stopping by.

Less is More Challenge Take 2...

Hi All

I was looking through some of the digital images that I have stored on my PC and came across this little beauty from
Meljens Designs he's called "Hello Bunny String".

The card I've created is a tiny 10cmx10cm card ideal for little notelets, in fact I'm going to make a few more and give them as a set to my mum to send to her sisters. The original image was drawn in black, I took the image into Photoshop and changed the colour to a lovely brown, printed onto cream cardstock and added a little brown ribbon.

Is it too much bunny and too little hello - I await your comments.

The hat stamp...

Hi All

Just a quick post to show a male card that I created a couple of weeks ago for one of my male colleagues at work. The stamp is by Mary Hughes and was in a bargain bin at a local craft store (8 stamps for £5 - Bargain!).

I've used ivory linen cardstock from the papermill and some brown scrap from my stash. Added a little ribbon accent and the sentiment was computer generated and printed directly onto the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

My first Less is More Challenge...

Morning

Well the sun is shining again and I just couldn't stay in bed.

Not only have I re-started my blog this week (hadn't put anything on it since 2008!) but I'm also joining in my first challenge. With that in mind, I couldn't resist joining probably the best challenge around, Less is More. I've been following the blog since it started and have just loved seeing what everyone was making, the cards are so inspirational. The theme this week over at
Less is More is A One Layer Card with the Sentiment as the focus of your creation. So here's my first attempt.

I'm not altogether happy, I think the black sentiment needs toning down, so maybe I'll have a play at changing the colour. Lots of white space and just a little ribbon accent. The image is a freebie from
Digital Delights.

Thanks for the great challenge and I look forward to joining in next week.

Mimi...

Hi All

My card today is one I made for Mother's Day. It's made from the Mimi Decoupage and Paper Pack by Trimcraft; I just love the images in this pack, they make the sweetest cards.

Very simple card using background paper from the same pack, card candy and sentiment from Craftwork Cards and ribbon from stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

And this card is one my daughter made for her friends birthday. Both my children love to make cards and never think of buying them - they just raid my stash!

These boots were made for walking...

Hi all

Today's card was made for my boss who does a lot of walking in the Lake District.

I googled a map of the Lakes and distressed it a little with distress ink. The boot was a template from a craft magazine ages ago. I enlarged the image and printed it directly onto the card then coloured with promarkers. The lace was part of a clothing tag from something that my hubby bought and the sentiment was from Craftwork Cards. Oh I do miss being able to go into their little shop for a browse since they moved. It's funny they're actually closer to me now but they don't have the little shop :o(

Anyway, hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping by.

Handbags, handbags, handbags...

The decision is made...

Inspired by so many fabulous crafters, I have decided to start a blog in order to showcase some of the cards that I create.

I'm not a daily card maker so may not be posting every day but I'm hoping that by starting this blog I will finally be encouraged to join in some of the fab challenges with everyone.

It's going to be a bit of a lonely place for a while, but hopefully I will see some of you soon.

Thanks for stopping by.
